Saturday we finished up the last of our breeding. We set up 38 head as recipes and the embryologist was able to use 32 of them. So hopefully we will have a good % of them stick. We put in 11 eggs out of our 0524 cow from four different matings. We also put 11 in out of our new SAV Blackbird 9057 donor from three different matings. Three eggs were purchased at the Tennessee River Music sale out of the 8052 cow and Resource. The rest were out of our 6R109 cow and SAV Reign. And one out of SAV Abigale 913 x Reign. We will draw blood in 29 days gonna keep my fingers crossed!

Out of curiosity, what do you guys consider a successful transplant rate? What makes for a great year? What would be considered a disappointing rate? Thanks!

We consider 65% good 75% to 85% is a excellent year.

Do you do live transfer?

We implanted 19 embryos last spring. Over half were live transfer. On regular implant, we are doing well. Haven't neared the live transfers calving yet but I am anxious to see the percentages.

We will transfer fresh if we are collecting, but the majority of what we do is frozen. This year two fresh so 30 frozen.

I have a few on the ground now that are looking really good. Time will tell but so far so good.
