Has anybody had any experience in using one of these electronic cattle immobilizers? Do they work as advertised? If they do I sure could have used one while treatinga case of pink-eye earlier this summer. If they work like the advertisement says they should be worth every penny it cost. I have seen them on ebay for 185.00.

We have a product here called Stockstill and yes they do work. Be careful that you don't turn it up too far and kill the beast.

For pink eye we have a cattle crush (squeeze chute) with an extra head thing on it. So the cattle crush stops their neck going side to side and the head thing stops their head going up and down. We can get to their eye with that.

The vet used an immobilizer on one of my cows sometime back, she bellowed in shock/pain and was a nervous wreck for months after that. I will never allow an immobilizer near my animals again. If you have a good chute you can restrain an animal quite adequately to treat pink eye etc.
