eating a 5 year old cow

got a cow that will not breed back. with the low price and im needing meat, think i will make hamburger out of her.
will feeding grain and corn for a month or so help to clean her out any?

Go ahead, and get some of the better cuts made in to steaks, and roast. It's tolerable.

A month isn't going to charge much. 90 days would help. That would give you time to work her up to a high concentrate ration. 2% of her body wt or 2 lbs per 100lbs body wt in corn. Ease her in to it and provide plenty of roughage.

If she hasn't bred back and is fat it will be hard to tell the difference. I got one just like that going to the slaughterhouse next Monday.
