I just buy blanks and write the number on the tag. After it dries I apply a 2nd coat. Works for me.

we have been using a felt marker available from the feed store. "DURA-INK 25" from markal, medium chisel tip. it's suppose to be indelible.

I use eartags as a temporary id until I can brand with numbers. Just in case they come out. I don't have to worry about who is whose.
