See that regularly-- don't think its an infection (no fever :) )
They get over it on their own/but I'll pull them reg to take a temp cause they look depressed and I am afraid I may not be seeing if they actually are getting sick on top of it.
Wonder if its not fluid buildup from a cold that has to reabsorb over time????

Ear problems can also be caused by Mycoplasma Bovis. It can also settle in joints or lungs. Tough critter. M. Bovis does not respond to many antibiotics including Mycotil. I understand that it will only respond to Nuflor or Baytril. Seems like these 2 antibiotics work on some calves & not on others.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Good luck & happy trails

Went and checked out Mycoplasma Bovis--- Thanks didn't know about it and ears.

Luckily from what I read I don't think thats what my calves have--
it seems to be in mostly young calves as a sideline to mastitis issues .
And it Sounds like you might as well bury them

I have seen one calf that had the joint Mycoplasma Bovis--only I didn't know what it was at the time---I recognised it as I was reading. But it(holstien) came in with a lump on its joint.--that deteriorated fast.
No wonder I couldn't get it to heal up :(
