I have a dummy calf which I have been bottle feeding since birth - now three weeks old. Mom very protective, but wouldn't let calf nurse nor let us help. Low and behold, yesterday we saw the calf nurse. Checked quickly and she does have milk. Question - should I continue supplementing with a bottle, or just let the calf build up moms supply again? Calf healthy and big - not scrawny at all - just real dumb.

For the first few days it might be a good idea to supplemnt it with a bottle a day till the cow gets her milk back up. If after that time the calf seems to spend a lot of time hunting and slurping and switching from teat to teat you may need to keep supplemnting it longer.
