It has been extremely dry here. I just got in my first cutting, and am lucky to even get any water for a second cutting. They are only allowing me to take enough water to run one 10" pipe. Normally I can run at least two, and I'm not sure how this going to affect my second cutting.

Heard last night that Colorado has a hay shortage and are having to truck hay in from as far as Oklahoma ? I always thought Colorado grazed cattle on BLM Land and grew a lot of alfalfa using irrigation ? Why would they have to truck hay in as far away as Oklahoma ? Surely I heard wrong ?

Eastern Colorado has had plenty of moisture this year. Hay shortage could be in NW or SW Colorado.

Got 7" just yesterday. I've been thinking we needed rain, been a few weeks without it and the grass wasn't growing as well, but not like that. Lost about 3' of dirt in a washout in my woods from that storm alone. Took the creeks from low-ish to near flooding, some running over roads in areas. Another inch or so and it could have been bad, but nothing too major that I've seen. Must have been the same moisture that hit NY and NJ, but smallish cells dumping a lot, with clear skys just a few miles away.

Some can graze BLM but many are not located where they can
