Just wondering if ya'll have any suggestions. I have a 14 month old heifer that wants to lay down when I catch her in the chute. I manually catch her in the head gate without event, then she decides to lay down like her legs are made of jelly. She has done this twice. I have a Priefert S04 which thankfully has a side door to prod her up or out. I am concerned she will injure or choke herself. It is hard to do AI work when she decides to lay down. Open to ideas.....Thanks. :help:

We had a heifer like that a couple of years ago. Got rid of her, not worth the agravation

I saw a Canadian made shoot with a piece of pipe welded into the middle so a cow couldn't go down. The cow straddled the pipe while in was the shoot. Looked like it would work.

Thank you for the replies....
Dun, I don't want to cull her as I have a small operation and need her to work out.
High Grit, That sounds interesting....seems like it might work.
Red Bull, My chute does have a rear gate. I will try not catching her head. Thanks so much.
