Awhile back someone posted about leveling plowed ground and I mentioned using a Doo-All. That's the only name I know and tried to describe it. Well, I finally got a picture today when I was greasing it up and getting it ready.

It ain't much to look at but it makes a plowed field level enough to shoot marbles on. Manufactured by Forrest City in 1968. Bought it new then.

My neighbor uses one to prep for sprig planting. You are absolutly right, but we shoot pool behind this one.
His has a John Deere sticker on it.

Not born yet??? Holy cow, I've got a tractor that's as old as your daddy then. 1953 Ford NAA - gets used every hay season to pull the rake.

We still use a lot of Do-All's around rice country. I don't have one but wish I did. I have to go back over the field after discin' with a drag harrow to smooth mine out. Fine looking machine.

Thank you for posting Mike. How deep do those tines in the front run? I was guesing about 4 to 6 inches. Those roller things must also go in about 4 inches?

The depth of the front sweeps depends on how much tractor you have. :lol: It will barely fit thru a 14' gate.

It can be raised or lowered with hydraulics and a shim placed on the cylinder rod will control depth.

I usually run it 2, 3 to 6 inches, depending on type of soil. Works good for incorporating chemicals also.

It does great at busting clods in prairie or red clay soil and makes a good firm seedbed. I pull a culti-packer behind the seeder that helps too.
 
Mike, it may have been made by Forrest City Machine Works in Forrest City AR.
I know they made a lot of Do-ALLS, i think there still in business.

It was made by them, but I thought they had gone under.

Anytime JoGee, I only use it about 10 days per year. That would give you 355 days of usage. ;-)
