Aye yi yi, I hope they're all dead, appear to be anyway. Glad I didn't turn over that bale.

So sorry for your friend's brother's horses. I hope they went quickly???

Yall don't fool me, you just photoshop pics like that to keep yankee's away  .

Good Lord, that may be the scariest thing I've ever seen and thanks for warning Ryder, I'll bet you're right... he had to look anyway.

Are the little ones more toxic (venom wise) than the adult? Or is the adult due to amount of venom injected?
How did they kill the horses? Bite on the legs or they got forked into a haybunk and they bit as the horse ate?

Am told the little one's cannot control their venom output which makes them partiluarly dangerous. The big one's will only use what it takes to bring something down but if you start messing with them you can watch as the venom sacs swell with venom. This is the reason why if one strikes you as you walk by it most times the bite isn't that serious. Not saying its a good thing but just maybe not life threatening. Most serious bites - according to my doctor friend - involve alcohol and are on the face or hand. Go figure. :???: I guess he wasn't skeered. :lol2: Best we can tell is the snake made a nest in the hay and the horses got bit while eating the hay. It took some time to figure out what happened but when the snakes were found it made sense.

Looks like they've gone to meet their maker....Jo ya trying to give poor Ryder a heart attack. Glad we don't have them here, I don't care about snakes, but don't think I would like to come face to face with that amount at once.

Then I guess the operative phrase at that point would be FEETS DON'T FAIL ME NOW!

Yep a few bites around the nose and the horses airway closes off.

Had a mare years ago get bit right by her nose. Rushed her to the vet and had taken along one of those plastic syring cases. Cut the bottom off in case her whole airway closed off we could shove it up her nose so she could breath.

I think a new pair of undies would be in order if I stumbled up on that. If I see the snake first it's ok. I can comely walk away as I figure what kind it is. If it see's me first or catches me off guard I turn in to Forrest Gump. I'm 3 counties over by the time I quite running.
