Respect is something I put a very high value on. I give it those that deserve it, and expect from others. The truth is, I come here to shoot the crap with like minded people. I almost never learn anything (not that I know it all), it's just all been said atleast once. I add little to the conversation, but seem to post frequently. I don't mind at all, when someone holds the opposite opinion of me. It takes all kinds, and that includes their kind. I would say I've got no respect for someone that switches user names ( not like hook and Bez), and we have several here doing that. I think it shows a lack of character on their behalf. I can honestly say, I'd let my wife make a change purse out of my scrotum before I'd come on here and be disrespectful to other users.

bigfoot, I understand where you are coming from andI enjoy a good debate but when trolls start topics that are nothing more than rethoric from a google search and their history of trying to start a internet fight it becomes tiresome. I enjoy this site more than any other forum I have belonged too. The marjorty of the members here are good, honest, hard working people that love agriculture, I have learned things here and I hope I have helped or.contributed something that someone else can use. Respect is offered freely and when it is taken away it can only be earned back.

Sometimes it does seem they have a pretty short fuse when they see you post while others are left to carry on with no consequences.

I have plenty of patience for genuine ignorance since I too am ignorant and I come here to learn. However, my patience is tested when it comes to varnished ignorance that is apt to mislead others. I was referring to people's lack of patience with new members questions. I'm guilty as well sometimes. What I see happening on this board is what I see on a few others I'm on. Long time mbers develop friendships, groups of like thinkers, etc much like high school. Except the incoming freshman have no idea how things run. And the seniors know it all and have no patience for anyone but seniors.
Just thought it was a good comparison that maybe we all can work on
