it dose... i used a jack on one of my stubbon heifers and she hasn't gave me any trouble since

About how much did the jack cost and is it much trouble to keep?

I was also wondering if it worked. I have a jack but have been afraid to use him on the calves. He seems to rule the roost with the cows and doesn't let anything new come into the pasture, but I didn't know if a calf would hurt him. He is a mini donkey, not a standard. Should he be able to handle a calf? If so how big of one?

I've used Donkeys from time to time with a stubborn animal. It does work as long as you still use a lot of human contact. I would never use a Jack only a Jenny. Used a Jack once and he hurt the animal that he was to lead. Jennys are much more placcid.

what if you used a gelded jack? would that make a difference? I have no exp. whatsoever with donkeys.

I would imagine a gelded Jack would be ok. I loved my donkey's when I had them. They are not as stubborn as they are made out to be under most circumstances. I've broken two and a half year old bulls in with them. They did a superb job.
