I saw a friend of mine and noticed she had 2 black eyes and long story short our other friends made her get restraining order on her hubby but she would not press charges her hubby who is 3 times her size and I just don't understand why men want to beat on women for the life of me. It has taken every ounce in me not to go give him the same treatment as he gave her but I know myself and i have a bad temper and snap so i keep reminding myself the more I think about it I have 2 kids at home that need me to take care of them but it just truly makes my blood boil.  If he really wanted to fight someone he could have got all he would have ever wanted of me. Sorry that just makes me so mad.

I had a good female friend of mine that I had known for years, and her husband drank alot, started beatin on her when he came home. (yes they had kids too) I found out cuz she rode to work with me some mornings and I saw the damage. Her brother and I were the best of friends, so I told him the same day I found out. We both went over there, and well.. we both told him that if he didnt stop what he was doing, he was going to end up buried in some field a long ways away.(her brother actually was more convincing because he had a pistol pointed at the guys head) He never hit her again, but she finally got smart and divorced him, and started a new life.

There's NO excuse for domestic violence. With that being said, a women can really get you mad almost as bad as a drunk. 30 years ago my wife told me I wasn't going hunting and pulled her car behind my swamp buggy. Needless to say I did 5k in damage, just by backing over the roof and trunk. But if I would of stayed at home it was going to be worst. I am sure glad she is still my wife. Mr. Dun had a great quote. "A man's like a piece of steel, once they lose there temper their no good" Really hit home for me. Thanks, Dun

Limo that was my idea at first but decided probably not a good idea to do so. High I whole heartedly understand how mad they can get you trust me there has been many days I stay gone on the farm or at the office. I have learned the art of leaving before losing temper. I have found just driving my tractor down the road a ways to the store which is 9 miles away is a good slow cool off period for me.

I had an uncle (married to Mom's sister) that slapped around my aunt. Kids finally grew up and the aunt decided to divorce the husband. He knocked down the door and was beating her. The oldest son came along about then. He drug the old man out into the yard and justice was served. I saw the old man a few days later. He looked like he had been stuffed through a meat grinder. I think a few years of held in frustration was let loose that night. I know of another case where a son got ahold of his father by the throat and explained that this behavior was going to stop. And it did.

I worked part time as a bouncer in a bar. Tossed lots of people out. Broke up plenty of fights. But I only two people I ever hurt were guys who hit a woman. One punched his wife in the bar. Another punched one of the barmaids. I don't think that either will ever forget the results of their action.

Dave I still work as a bouncer have been for 15 years lol I personally have not seen a woman hit by a man in the clubs I work. I tell you what I sure would have for someone to do that to my daughter there is no person powerful enough to stop the bad things I would do to the guy that abused my daughter.... I hope and pray she nor I have to be put in that situation.

Sometimes Kathy and I share harsh words but I could never hit someone that I love.

I have a son in law that one night after one too many went to telling me that if he ever were to mistreat my daughter that I could come shoot him. Knowing that daughter I told him that if he ever mistreated her, that I couldn't drive fast enough to save him. Since then I think he has watched her knive cut enough calves and shoot enough critters that he would think twice about abusing her. I raised some mighty cute daughters who are tougher than barb wire.

Only time my Dad ever raised his voice and threatened action was when my sisters husband gave her a black eye. he said it was because he was going thru chemo for skin cancer, but the guy was just a weak controlling it-. His thing was verbal abuse, putting my sister down, saying untrue things about her in front of others, making her feel real small. Looking back I wish we all would have handled it differently got in his face, told my sister to get the heck out sooner than she did, but at the time we really did not know how bad it was. She has since divorced him, moved on with her life, but I know there are scars that she is still dealing with, feelings of self worth, confidence all that-She raised 3 great daughters, who have all turned out great, she gets sole credit for that, her ex had no part in that-

Years ago when I was serving in the Army I was in an elite airborne unit where unit cohesion and comaradarie was a key factor in the success or failure of the missions that we trained for. We had a guy in my squad that could get out of control easily. He drank too much, pushed the envelope with the NCO's and LT's on a daily basis. One night right after the grueling Jungle Warfare Course in the Philippines we were in Manilla for the physical recovery period. We were in a club with some Philippina girls (comfort girls really) when he decided that he could commence to beating on one that had used his cigerette lighter without asking. We pulled him off of her and gave her cab fare money. We asked the bar tender to not call the authorities and promised him that we would take care of our problem child. We walked him out into the alley and after a few days in the infirmery he walked a very straight line. It changed his whole attitude and outlook on life. I won't go into details about what we did to him but you can use your imagination about the damage two highly trained, in shape, ticked off Rangers can do after the stress of spending a month in the jungle living off bugs, snakes, rats and whatever else we could scrounge up. We dropped him off at the base infirmery and told them he had been attacked by a Philippino street gang. Our CO knew what happened I am sure but he never even questioned us......he probably figured it was best to leave it alone since it worked.

just wait till you get the call that your daughter (maybe 5'2 and 110lbs) has just beat 2 girls butts in the Gym at a ballgame. Principal and I grew up together so he called me instead of letting the cops handle it. I asked him if she started it and he replied no but she finished it. Since that day I knew that she would never tolerate a guy pushing her around.

I never got that call, but I have since heard some stories from other kids about my 5'3' 110 pound baby girl. She was at a high school party and saw a couple girls in her truck. When she openned the door she found them smoking pot in her truck. She drug them both out of the truck and proceeded to sweep up the parking lot with them Nobody stepped in to stop it because nobody wanted to take her on. When she was in the 4th grade she was sitting on my lap one evening and suddenly annouced that she could whip everyone in the 4th grade. She was a cute little thing who probably didn't weigh 50 pounds at that time. I was somewhat taken back and didn't know what to say so I asked her what about the 5th grade. She pondered that for a second and replied, "most of them too."

She is now 27 and her and her husband manage a ranch in Montana. I was over there a while back, We were at a nieghbors ranch helping ship calves. A couple old ranchers asked if I had anymore like her at home because if I did they wanted me to send them there. I have never had to worry about that one.

My Brother-in-law got all tough with my sister once. That was about 15 years ago. It took me 7 hours to drive to their place down there in south Louisiana. My sister still hasn't figured out how I found out about it. Told my BIL that I could always come back.

For myself, my wife jumped in between me and another person once, back in my youth when my temper was quick. I shoved her across the bed before I lit in to him. Felt bad about it for over 30 years. I did not hurt her, but I was violent nevertheless by shoving her onto the bed. The person she was trying to keep me from wasn't worth it.

Both of my daughters are black belts. It happened for me at a Jack-in-the-Box. Youngest daughter closed both eyes for a HUGE girl who was after her. That simply is not fair. :D Everyone of us have won a state championship. I made nationals and finished 2nd losing to a guy from KC. I quit smoking for 8 days. That was years ago. I am way to old for such things now.

I would be willing to bet domestic violence is far more pronounced than most people on here would realize. It might even be commonplace in some circles.
