Dodge front end??

Ok, I know this will be humerus to all the anti dodge folks that have been telling me how bad dodge front ends are for the last 3 years, but at 140k I finally have a small issue.

When moving between 10 and 30 mph you can here a steady clicking from the front right hub, put it in 4x4 and it goes away. I was thinking u joint and I guess it may still be, but the 4x4 thing has me re thinking it a little.
 
More than likely the CV joint. At 140K miles have you had the ball joints or CV joints replaced? I got 160K on my 2500 4x4 and just spent $1700 on it, getting the front end all fixed up. Its just like a new one now.. tight front end ,and handles so good..

I haven't touched it, still seems to handle good. I don't mind to spend that when I need to, I'd just like to wait a month or 2 before I do, who wouldn't :lol2:

probably the cv joint/ u joint in the axle like limomike said. what happens is when in 2wd the joint is turning but no pressure on it so it kinda just flops from the play. when in 4wd it has tension and doesn't make a lot of noise YET. as it wears out will be noisy all the time. No manufacture is immune to maintenance. and wearble parts wear out. I would still rather walk owning a Dodge than be seen riding in a ford or chevy.
 
I was driving my buddies dodge from florida to Missouri delivering a bunch of bees for them. I heard the exact same clicking from the front end and it was the u joints. The shop that replaced them said they were about to come apart.
I wouldn't wait too long if I were you.
