Are you asking if we think the the Earth is warming or are you assuming it is and are asking if we think humans are responsible for it?Alan":1yevw5rd said:

I believe that we are warmer than we were a few decades ago, which would be global warming, but I figure humans had very little to do with that if anything.Alan":3t7uiojm said:
I want to think that the planet just goes in cycles like any living thing. But I also think that with all the people, pollution and chemicals around that there would seem to be some sort of consequence. I like to think that we were given this planet to use to make our lives better, but I also think that with that comes a sense of stewardship. We need to take better care. It is a great gift and it a shame to spoil it like it will always be around and never run out of resources.

we are a throw away society now and we need to recycle more. as one day we will run out of resources. the population of the World is larger now than ever so I feel we need to cut down. I can't see going into space has done our ozone layer much good keep braking holes in it, or testing the bomb that was done years ago, but that is my oppinion. each to his/her own. but as for global warming I used to think that man had a lot to do with it but after watching a few programmes on the contrary, I am in two minds as to whether it is just natural progression.

Absolutely... It's been going on since just after the middle of the last Ice Age and will continue until the pendulam starts to swing back the other way. I wonder what the tree huggers will do then. If there are any tree huggers.

I think there is not really enough information to know if the earth is warming or not. I know people will say, it is a lot warmer now than it was 20 years ago, or winters are not near as bad. But when the scientist talk about the earth warming over the last decade or more. I believe they are talking about either fractions of a degree or like 1 degree rise in temperature.
So from that we can see that no human would be able to make a general observation if it is getting warmer, because few if any could tell if it was one degree warmer when divided out within 365 days a year over 20 years or more.
I think they plant it in our minds and we convince ourselves it is so based on rather it is warm one winter or colder a specific summer.
As for scientist measuring the temp, they no longer measure it the same today as they did a 100 years ago, not in the same locations and not in the types of locations. So to say it is warmer today when temps are taken at airports with asphalt today vs temps being taken in hay meadows 100 years ago is not a fair comparison. So even scientist can not get an accurate reading of this so called 1 degree warming trend.
And I know some will point out the melting glaziers, but then other can show were glaciers are growing. Warming? maybe, maybe not, maybe it is just a shift, one area might be warmer but then another area is colder.
Or maybe it is a cycle and it is getting a little warmer, who knows?
I believe earth may or may not be getting warmer. But when no one can really know for sure. So live life, be happy and don't fret over things so much.
Conserve, don't pollute, take care of the earth as best we can, but not because Al Gores says the sky is falling but because the creator of it gave it to us as a beautiful home and as any nice home it should be cared for with respect and pride that it deserves.

Yes I beleive it...I keep saying it over and over....must beleive....have faith.... it will come.....
.......as I slog out into April snow and -15 wind chills to save freezing baby spring calves.
I would personally like to see a little more evidence of it at home before I start jumping for joy over any kind of warmth increase.
Compared to the massive pollution of volcanic eruptions of yester-years, the Methane swamps from eons ago, our man made pollution is a drop in the ocean.
The most ludicrous assumption is that we can alter the climate change by changing our ways or taxing pollution.
Don't scientists realize that climate is not static? It is ever changing... always has been and always will be.

Roy Spencer says we don't know yet how changes are happening
MADISON - Roy Spencer is speaking up about his belief that Earth is not headed toward a global warming disaster.
Spencer, a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and former NASA scientist, said he knows he's in the minority with his opinions, but he doesn't believe manmade influences are causing catastrophic climate changes.
"We see something change in our climate and we blame ourselves," Spencer told the Republican Women of Madison during a lunch meeting Wednesday.
Spencer contends there is not yet enough known about the Earth's atmosphere to understand exactly what occurs naturally to stabilize the earth's climate.
"I don't think we understand what happens. We can watch it happen on the (climate) models, we know it happens, but we don't know for sure how it happens," Spencer said.
Developing new energy technology is the only way to know for sure, he said, because he believes the existing climate models are too sensitive.
He said everything about the climate is tied to precipitation systems. But the climate models don't consider precipitation efficiency. However, he said the little evidence that exists shows precipitation systems act as a natural thermostat to reduce warming.
"The air you're breathing right now was, in the last few days, part of a precipitation system," he said.
Spencer said the fears about global warming have people wondering whether something should be done now to stop it.
"That's the precautionary principle, and it makes no sense because we don't live our lives that way," Spencer said. "Everything in life has risks and benefits; we could die from eating food."
Energy is needed by humanity, Spencer said while poking fun at Al Gore and other environmentalists who talk about conservation.
"Most of us are already doing what we can to conserve, but it won't have any impact on global warming," Spencer said.
Two weeks ago, he testified in a congressional hearing on global warming. Next month, he'll make presentations at the White House and to top evangelical leaders on his research.
"It's a busy field and keeps me awake," Spencer said.

Step 1. Say there is a problem. THE SKY IS FALLING!
Step 2. Offer anecdotal evidence that the problem exists, if there is no data to support your position, say "The lack of data PROVES there is a problem. Use twisted info and logic as much as possible to keep people on the defensive so they stay busy thinking on the agenda you set.
Step 3. Get someone famous to take up your cause, (like Meryl Strepp and the Alar on apples years ago). Just be sure they are passionate about your cause.
Step 4. Get someone famous to praise the 1st famous person for taking such an important stand for all of us.
Step 5. Someone will start a group to STOP THE SKY FROM FALLING NOW! People will join.
Step 6. Say we need to fund research into this IMPORTANT PROBLEM.
Step 7. Universities will see a chance to get FUNDING from the government and will have some scientist say "This problem can only be properly addressed after an appropriate amount of research" (Like the guy at the televised football game who holds up a sign that says "Dad send money".)
Step 8. Convice the government to fund research.
Step 9. RECEIVE MONEY! YEAH!
Step 10. Be sure to repeat steps 1-4 and 6 fairly often as needed, so that Step 9 DOES NOT STOP. (Like any machine, once it is running it still needs to be oiled occasionaly.)

Not, the way the politicians portray it. But, I KNOW that God made this earth to stand for a period of time and it will run out of resources, etc. It's kind of like rain, there hasn't been anymore made since God created the earth. Sun pulls it out of the oceans redposits it on land it's just a continual cycle

Maybe it is because we can have warm trends in specific areas that go through cycles for the earth to cleanse itself. Remember that the problem with Global warming that the media and libs want to throw us into a frenzy over is talking about World Wide Global warming. You know the whole earth is going to be destroyed.
But a logical approach to it might be that maybe glaciers are melting in certain areas. But maybe they are growing in others. Like maybe Texas is having a draught now, but Kansas is not. Maybe next year Kansas will have draught and Texas will have to much rain. Areas change time to time, but that does not mean the sky is falling.
Maybe the media and powers to be over Global Warming argument do not want to show the pictures of the Glaciers and Ice sheets that growing. It does not fit their agenda to do so. Much like the shootings at Virginia tech, the media wants to show you all the evil guns do but not show you the sum 500,000 times that a gun has been used to scare off an intruder in the U.S. Or the times a teacher got his gun and saved the students.

I truly believe our politicians have an agenda... and this earth is headed for a "cooling" trend.. how else can you explain all the record low temps.. and record snows.. rains....and growing ice shelfs...etc...

Who said don't do anything? We are just saying use some common since. Drilling pumping and using of oil will continue until a suitable replacement is found. Once it is cheaper to import oil than it is to use our own, the oil companies will drill elsewhere where we have little or no over site. The same is true with manufacturing industry. Believe it or not there are a lot of countries that have a lot of cheap labor and little or no EPA standards that would love to take any business they can get.Angus/Brangus":33qqc223 said:
