Do I have enough syndrome

I am suffering from the do I have enough syndrome. It goes likes this ever day that I feed hay I wonder if I have enough to get to spring. Am I the only one suffuring from this malady.

well the do i have enough hay to make it till spring thing.im not worried about it because theres enough good cheap hay around if i run short.better yet can feed them more feed.

All depends on when spring gets here. I may have enough to sell some, may come up short. Ma Nature hasn;t made up her mind yet, and the rodent in PA is no help!

Got plenty of hay this year, actually have almost enough for next year. Ryegrass and clover is really coming on now and cows are slowing down on eating hay. Rain we getting today should help too.
I have had years where cut it pretty close on hay, 2007 was a very good year for hay production in North east Texas

Yup, what a differant a year makes. Last year I had 55 rolls and maybe 500 squares left (about 2 weeks during peak feeding). This year (unless the barns burn down or blow away) I should have enough in the barns to feed next year. Havn't fed everything sitting outside yet.

You folks in the dry areas don't take this the wrong way. I hesitated making this post cause it sounds a little boastfull but I am really greatfull. We were in your shoes the past few years and it wasn't fun. I hope you all have as good a recovery as we did.

I had that problem last year. The drought really caught me unprepared and this malady is tough on your nerves. Most of my dilema was self-inflicted as I gave some hay away and I sold some later trying to help people out - figured I had plenty - I didn't. Grass just didn't grow and I decided to reduce numbers. Two weeks later we got rain and things began to grow. I had one roll left so I cut it close. But when the millet kicked in, I had more feed than cattle or money enough to by cattle. As Solomon did, I have built a nice inventory of hay and have enough for next year as well. I have no idea what I will be doing with this years hay other than building more inventory.

Same for me. I ended up last year with only 10 rolls left. If the rain had not come, it would have been trouble. I'm sitting on enough now for this year and next. I won't be cutting it so close again. My plans are to cut one time for myself this year and then let one of the big hay boys come in and cut it a couple more times. Don't mean to sound lazy here, but it would be nice for the only work involved to be depositing the check in the bank. :D

Sounds like a good plan Grannysoo. Hope you don't mind me imitating your strategy cause this sounds like something I might want to try also.
