Diesel Performance

Yup... I'm forced to do it on a tight budget though, I have a 94 dodge dually, and I had to back off the power to keep my clutch alive for a while until I can afford an aftermarket one... and maybe some tires

I used to drive the torqueless monster, a 1100 cc mazda rx7, 200 HP @ 8000 rpm, then I got a turboed 1300cc, 375 HP @ 7000, 11 psi (built the engine for 700 HP), then I got the dodge... you step on it, wait, wait, and then take off... my truck (when not detuned) should be about 250 HP, 650 ft lbs, it's probably around 200/500 now, 28 PSI

I'm sorta into it. I've got 3 custom programs for my truck that also tune the tranny for shift points, converter lockup, etc. Intake, straight piped, and a couple other non epa approved mods. Never dyno'd but I have to watch the foot or the back end gets loose right quick. Even in 4 hi I can light em all up

Sorta into it myself, gave my chevy dually to my son. Took the programmer off but left the exhaust and air system alone. With street tires ran a best 13.6 - 99+mph.

These are my trucks.

Its mostly stock except for an Airdog 150, quadzilla ADR, and 5" exhaust

This one has a little more done to it. It started with 150hp injectors, 62/68/14, and a edge drag comp. I sold the 62 and Smokem just finished my injectors. So it will soon have 240's and a BD super B special. I have a deal worked out for a dually bed and a six factory wheels and chrome covers. So the plan is to turn it in to a dually.
I'm going to keep the black regular cab and sell the blue quad cab to help with my start in to cattle business.

huh..me....um i wouldnt call my trcuk performance...wassup buddy

Sure that may work on your wife but your about as eat up with it as me lol. Your avatar is you launching at the track and rolling coal as all the cool high school kids call it lol.

Nesikep, is your truck a reg cab or ext cab?

yeah that smoke is a killer..westons trying to get me a set of his inj cuz jamie at cpp aint gittin it done for me...you following my ..i need smaller inj thread on comp diesel? i gotta do something..all the coal is ruining my toyhauler

No must have missed it. The first set of 150's where built by Weston they were awesome. 7x0.10's with 0.010 more lift. Them and the 62 towed well but you had to watch the gauge and make it down shift. Once it was lit it was never more than a grey haze. I was hauling a bull back from out side of Nashville and got some chitty fuel. That tank cost me alot of money. I will worn you Weston is slow but I will let you know next week if the new set is worth the 6 months Ive been waiting.

10-4..im gonna put a stand alone trans controller in soon..i got it on the shelf but cant seem to find the time. mines only real bad if im in od..gotta keep the rpm over 1600 or so or man it smokes out the trlr behind ya..seriously it will smoke out my toyhauler so bad i lose it in the mirriors til the turbo spools..once it lights man im a rocket tho
mine are 7x010w/+030...gonna try no extra lift...but i got a 74 turbine and need fuel to spool it

What are your nozzles? VCO, micro SAC, or SAC? I'm beating theyre not VCO's. I'm not Weston but I'm betting that would help with smoke. I just read your tread on comp. I haven't run a 62/74 yet but I think they do better with 68 or 71 turbine . I towed with a 62/68 with injectors close to yours and it would just haze.

That smoke thing bothers me, I have been behind Rams doing that on the road and I remember being majorly annoyed. I'm not a diesel performance major, but how can legal chips reprogram the pump to put that much soot out the exhaust?
Guys used to turn up the injection pumps on tractors for the pulls and they would do that, but they wouldn't last long.
I guess I have become my father.
On the other hand, I read today about some guy that got some 180 mph on the Bonneville salt with a F-250 running biodiesel. Lowered and upsized turbos and not much else.

If your making alot of power it's going to be overfueled until you get the charger lit. The guys "rollin coal" are just lugging with their foot stuck in them. I give people a chance, but if you don't leave me alone I will make the road, the sun, and every thing in between disappear. Don't draft me we're not driving around talledaga.

theyre sac..mine is all motor...no chips/tuners/etc.

i do think the turbine is slow spooling and that might be part of it but even with that it smokes too much.

it hazes..all the time..idling even...barely tho u can see it.

ive got a bigger turbo/bigger pump/bigger intake/bigger exh/bigger inj....and a big assed bull too..guess i like big stuff..cpet fer women..like em little..woohoo.

oh yeah..anyways yeah...i can smoke the road out so bad people will slow down or drive around the cloud.and i can do it for a mile. i really dont like it but my 4 yr old did for awhile but even he says ''its a waste of fuel daddy''...but like ya said..please dont tailgate me

The smoke comes in handy for those wanna be cyclists wearing their gay spandex and phallic shaped helmets as they ride 4 across blocking the road. Just let of the throttle and then lug it just as you pass em

them and those slow assed harley riders blocking the back roads..20-30 at a time..course i would never do that being a rider myself

Your running a 74 on just 175's maybe a little closer to 200's. I think you either need to jump up in size to 240-250's and push the charger harder. Another option is swap to a 68 or 71. I think as much towing as you do I would drop to a 68 and keep the same injectors. I ran one with 7x0.010 with 0.010 more lift VCO's with a drag comp. I just had a thought. See if you can borrow a smarty or something that adds timing and see what happens. They should help it spool sooner.

i think the hrvp is maxed out on both the fueling and the timing. its an iis unit and they told me the electronics really wouldnt help since they build all the advances the boxes give into the unit already...my drag comp really does nothing..specially since i put the big inj in..
i drove it today in the rain and it spins the tires all over the place soon as i get some boost..smoking like a frieght heading up the mtns
