I didn't get my $.02 worth in in time but my hat is off to chenocetah for describing himself as a "Black American instead of as a African American. I don't know about all of the rest of you but I think if more of us American's looked at race that way we would all be better off for it.

chenocetah was my apple for today and my onion for the day was getting a cortisone shot in the palm of my hand this afternoon. OUCH! Doc said that it will only hurt for three or four days and after that it should just fine. :?:

The American dream is dead
The "united" states of america is now divided
We now have racism on the forefront, sexual immortality, greed, self serving socialist government, a nation full of free loaders, prisons at full capacity making it a revolving door for crooks, drugs abuse at every level in society and now legalizing marijuana, insurmountable amount debt that will be our ruin
We have become scum of the earth

That's a ray of sunshine

What used to be the 4th largest city in the US filed bankruptcy today. Detroit.

(who didn't see that coming?)

The ones making excuses for it rather than taking responsibility and looking at what not to do again on a bigger scale.

And they'll blame it on anything other than the liberal over reaching government policies that caused it.

NOT TRUE

If people would turn off their TV and through them on in the trash where most of the stuff that comes out of them comes from I think people (who aren't all hyped up on TV and radio talk show hype) would see that most people are descent and care about their fellow man.

Without all the hype being pumped into them nightly most people are not way over to the left or way over to the right on almost any subject.

The problem comes when the powers that be stir the pot by making inflammatory remarks and 1/2 truths in an effort to stir people up. They do this to better their own cause whether it is to get reelected, get money, to split Americans and reduce the power of the voting public, to pay back special interest groups and the list goes on and on.

Anyone that does not think the public is constantly being manipulate is naive and he!!

When I had the shot in my palm it hurt worse for about 2 days and then have never had any more pain from it. Sure hurt bad those first 2 days though.

You can't blame it on the liberal government. Both the Republicans and Democrats are responsible. It has been going down hill for a long time.
It just keeps getting worse and worse. People want it fixed, but most don't want to give up anything to get it done.

We are a "me first" and "pass the buck" society. I worry about the future for the youth of today. What sort of world will they have when they are adults?

I didn't say anything about dems or reps. I said liberal.
But in your terms, the last republican mayor of Detroit was in 1962.

Absolutely true, Both sides have addenda's, Both sides are bought a paid for by big business, Both sides passed tax breaks for companies that moved over seas, both sides pushed for free trade that lost American jobs.

You don't have to be a genius figure out if they started taxing imports again like they used to before "free trade" and take away all tax breaks to companies that move over seas that it would bring back some jobs. If they really wanted to fix the mess they have made they could do it in a month.

By the way "free trade" in a farce they still put tariffs on some imports. Like honey for instance, why? because there's no lobbyist or big company giving out payola to import cheep honey.

How do they get way with it? Easy put out a little propaganda get the country riled up about something and looking the other way then do want ever you want. Or just keep saying something long enough like "free trade will be the best thing that has ever happened to North America" and after a while people start believing it.

Who was it that said we be able to hear a sucking sound of jobs leaving the U.S. with free trade anyway?

On June 13, 1899. 2 men were on trial for murdering a man and his 8 year old son in cold blood. Despite overwhelming evidence that the men were guilty the jury voted not guilty. After the trial the jury spoke out proudly and said it didn't matter whether they were guilty or not, they were not going to let the "Republican" prosecutor win. The jury consisted of 6 Democrats. Do you think those morons in washington are any different today than 112 years ago? I think not.

100 years ago democrats were more like today's republicans and vice versa. It's only recently that democrats and liberal thinking are synonymous

The Union movement reached it's peak in Detroit. Autoworkers were kings of working men. Of course union power supported working men and thus everyone from the bus driver to the sewage plant was represented by a union. There is power in being a union chief, including the ability to defeat the city council you negotiate with.
There isn't a lot of room in the city budget, so higher wages may be out of the question, but we can always give the unions a promise of future pensions. We won't fund the pensions, so the cash flow for this year stays in line. The Unions will support me in my next campaign.
Bankruptcy court can invalidate the pension deals, I'm told.
I read that there are 48 separate unions involved in the bankruptcy.

They going cry for a government bailout and will get it
There were lots of Dem votes due to fear of losing their pensions

Pensions are probably gone anyway. Some will try to bail them out, but I don't see that happening.
