Hey everyone,

Back for a bit again. It's been a while since I've been on here, and I've noticed a fair few changes on here.

Had a few changes since I've been on here too. For one, I'm going back to University in January to start finishing up my An-Sci program. :)

Second, I have to have my gall bladder removed, no idea when though.

And thirdly, we had to make a hard decision about giving up our inside cats, and ended up going through with it this morning. It'll be a tough few days, but at least they'll be going to good homes.

Other than that, not much else has happened.

How's everyone else been doing and what's been going on?

Thanks anazazi and Ryder. :) I was all prepped for going back this September when this stupid gall stone/gall bladder thing came up. Figured it would be better to wait until next semester because I had, or have, no idea when my surgery's gonna be (I've a hunch it's sometime in October...HAVE to be then), so I'm just doing some on-line course work from another local university for the time being to keep me occupied.

Ala, that wouldn't be a problem if they still had claws...since they're declawed they're being adopted out as "special needs" cats, since they'd be only good for apartment living, not house or farm living. But yeah, that certainly would solve that problem wouldn't it? :lol2:

Gosh, after reading a few posts on here, I hadn't realized how much or what I've been missing. It's good to be back in the thick of things on here again. :D

KARIN !!!!!! So glad you have checked in girl :D

Very proud of you that you are going back and finishing your degree, as I am sure all of your family is as well. Sorry to hear about you not feeling well and needing surgery, I wish you a safe procedure and speedy recovery. I know how much you loved your cats ,so that must have been a hard decision. How is you little niece doing and are you still at the vet clinic ?

Welcome back, Karin! I'm a recent return also.

Keep on going with your courses, something you will never regret! Hope the gall bladder issue isn't terrible for you. Looking forward to your posts (and pictures!).

Thank you HD and Gale. :D

So far the gall bladder hasn't been bothering me much. I had a minor attack on Sunday that had me down for five minutes, but I was fine afterwards. I've been keeping on a fat-free diet since my last major attack in late August that landed me in the hospital and had me throwing up for a few days afterward. Can't have any dairy products (no milk yogurt, ice cream, nothing), no meat (except lean chicken), no junk food, chocolate, cake, or anything that has any sort of oil in it. Can't even fry vegetables with oil, otherwise I'll go down. So it's just plain fruit, veggies, juice, bread and pasta until after my surgery. It sucks because I can't eat out anymore, but at least I don't get any serious attacks or am in any pain every day.

My dear little niece is doing awesome. She's pretty well off her oxygen, has tonnes more energy than she has had in the past, and keep up quite well with other two little squirts. ;-) She had to have surgery to have a stomach tube put in to help get her weight up more and her androids taken out to improve her breathing, and so far she's taking it in stride. She's a little fighter, she is. :D

No I'm not working at the clinic anymore. I felt I wasn't improving any there and wanted to move on to better things so I left. Besides, now that I have my university to look forward too, maybe I can start doing a little more planning on my cattle-raising enterprise. ;) May not be another few years til I get started, but it's good to have some sort of plan.

Welcome back! Good on ya for continuing your education. I think you younger folks are gonna need education and every advantage you can get to compete for fewer jobs in the future. Sorry about your gall bladder problems. That diet sounds pretty miserable in and of itself.

welcome back stranger, glad to hear your going back to school.take care of yourself till you can have your gallbladder out.

Glad to see you back ILB don't leave it so long next time, sorry to hear about your Gall bladder, I know what you mean by your diet, I had a stomach op only a few months ago and am on a similar diet, for a few months before the op all I could have was consomme soup and some diet drink no solids at all. Good luck for your op.
Also good to hear you are going to carry on with Uni.
Sad about having to re-home your cats, I know I would be heart broken if I had to re-home my Molly.

Thanks all, I'll try not to disappear as long as I have once before. Still no word when I'll have my surgery, but I'll keep you up to date on any news that come up.
