Did you ask for anything for christmas?

I wanted a filet set and cut resistant gloves to clean the fish my wife catches... Yep shes the fisher not me. That is really all I wanted physical gift wise. I also wanted my family to get together and have fun and create alot of good memories and drink up those 2 gallons of creek water I bought :lol:

Didn't ask for a thing. I normally buy what I want when I want it so the wife doesn't buy one and get the wrong thing. A little time with the family is all I really need anyway.

Nope, When people ask what I want for Christmas I tell them to pick a kid off of the wish tree at Wal-Mart or rescue mission. I can afford to buy what I want or need. to many people in this world that need a good deed.

We give to childrens hospital and veterans but still we exchange gifts at home.

I insist on not getting anything for Christmas, and get my own children, and wife very little. It's sicken how much we all have nowadays. It's a different amount from year to year, but I try to help the Sunrise Children's Services, and the Forgotten Angel Program. I usually make my donation the Monday after thanksgiving, so they will have it in time for Christmas.

Normally I don't ask for anything. I'm kind of like a couple of other posters in that I'd rather see people in need get something and I buy whatever I want. Plus the gifts that do mean anything to me are not usually anything that I could ever think of on my own.
This year I did ask for something though. I asked my wife to close the door on anyone negative and try to be happy and involved with us and the people that make her happy instead. I swear the only family tradition she had growing up was to spend every holiday bytching about how horrible your childhood was and then call everyone who made it horrible and act like you love them just so that you could be even more miserable after you got off the phone. :bang:

I don't see a problem with giving your family presents for christmas. I want my kids to have more than I had as a child. I give them love and support/My time unconditionally and as long as my wife and I can get up and make a lil $ they shall have everything they want within reason.If we can afford it. They do everything I ask of them without any lip and are good respectful kids and do well in school. I also give a fair amount to the charities I mentioned. Its just one time a year where we do this so we kinda go all out.

I did that for a little while but I relented after I figured out that someone very close to me really couldn't see my logic and I saw that she really needed to feel like she had given me something that made me happy in order to be happy herself.

I didn't ask for anything myself. But my wife is going to really be happy with me. I don't see nothing wrong with giving the kids nice things. I try to spoil mind myself, but I expect a lot in return. Good kids are hard to spoil. Rotten kids spoil quickly.

My logic is crazy, but here it goes------------If I get my daughter a pair of miss me jeans for Christmas, I'm viewed by her as just doing my job. I f were riding down the road one day in October, and I swing in the boutique here in town, and tell her pick out a pair of miss me jeans, I'm a hero.

To me that could be deemed as doing your job as well but I understand what you are saying.
