Denali

That's the way the government is supposed to work. The locals and natives have always called it Denali. The states should be able to do what the residents want, not what the government wants.

Lots of changes. Flags coming down, statue of Jefferson Davis removed from UT campus, mountains renamed, talk about removing the confederate generals in Georgia, removing presidents from money, 2 guys getting married, and lots of other stuff. This country has changed a lot in the last few years and not for the better.

Did anybody bother to ask the residents?? I haven't heard of any voting going on about it.

From what I've seen the residents never called it anything but Denali. Should have never been renamed Mt. McKinley in the first place.

That's what they have wanted it named since it was first renamed to McKinley. Denali was it's original name

I was surprised to hear this. I thought it happened years ago. Way back when I was in school the text books called it McKinley but when I worked in Alaska in the late 70's and early 80's all I ever heard it called was Denali.

Guess Mt. McKinley will go the way of the statue of Jefferson Davis at the University of Texas. Hope they don't replace it with a statue of Obama.

Knowing how liberal that university is they probably already have a statues of Obama, Bill, and Hillary under construction.

I'm not a big civil war buff, but I see the removal of the statues and stuff as being akin to ISIS destroying ancient artifacts in syria and iraq.

Statue will be replaced with one of Rick Perry

Why? Why not replace it with a hero like someone who was in WW1 or WW2.
