Hello all, I am new to this forum, but just thought that I would post a little info on my experience with crystalized dominion paste. I am not sure what they did to their formula, but for the last 10 or so years, their paste has had problems with crystals. I have tried Naylors paste and am not happy with it as it seems to be weaker in strength. In doing thousands of calves over the years with Dominion paste, I have maybe had 10 calves that ended up with horns, and those only I believe because either the mom licked the paste off or it was an older calf who scratched his paste off. Anyhow, long story short, to get rid of most if not all of the crystals in a bottle, I put the bottles in a double boiler for 10 to 12 hours. this heats up the crystals slowly and seems to dissolve them. It works best on a bottle that is not completely full and you can shake it a few times during the heating to mix it up. The paste then spreads like butter for the most part. I do this with all my bottles, new and old, before the beginning of calving season. I cant say its 100 percent successful all the time, but I can say that it is 500 percent better than trying to spread crystals
