If you have a fresh hide and don't have any use for it, The Elks collect them andf have them made into leather stuff, gloves, etc for veterans

Dun,
Is that just around your place or any Elks ?
From what was said it sounded all Elks. But it may just be in MO. Call and ask, the worst they could do is tell you no. They do it in MO, NY, NB, so I would assume it's everywhere.

Why didn't you tell me a few weeks ago? I would have dropped that mule deer's ass off!

Just found out about a couple of days ago. You could bring it back here and drop it off.

The angrie one contacted the state Elks folks and found out that it's a chapter by chapter deal. So not all of them do it. Our local group sends theirs to a chapter south of us, so they take them but don;t do anythign with them but send them on.

Right. The woman in charge of the local chapter suggested that if I wanted to "persue something" with the member heading up the program, she would forward contact information. But there is no one coordinating that program up north or transferring hides. It is as easy as an email to check into though.
