It may be just a legend, but many midwest dirt tracks were alleged to pay "roll money". If a driver rolled a car, the track would slip him a $50 or $100. Flipping cars quarantee a full house at the next race.
If NASCAR doesn't slip about $1 mil to the 07 car they are the cheapest owners ever. Crossing the finish line upside down and on fire sets a new standard.
I wish NASCAR would go just a little further toward improving the breed. For instance, are there ANY new cars with carburetors? Why isn't the Camry mutivalved and injected like the ones on the street? When the race cars use less sophisticated engines than the street cars--why?
