My history was taught at the dining room table. Marine uncle sniper made the beach landings Guadalcanal , Iwo and Okinawa, another that was at Pearl December 7, one in the Mariana Turkey Shoot.
Dad was part of the task force that captured U505 on display in Chicago also sank U515 and U546. Dad also went back and served in Korea.
We can't forget Rosie the rivitor either.
Those women were building the planes, ships and munitions as well.
Can't remember where the factory was located in the USA . In one factory I remember those gals were producing a B-24 Liberator a day!
To top that off those girls were flying them to the boys.

They did all that then went back home became our moms and raised us!

Icing on the cake was they were classy in everything they did.

I have two dead now lifer brothers that served so I think I have received creditable intel on the events. I also think it explains my family's dislike for our left leaning political party.
