last year I started a small 5 acre stand of Big Bluestem . This summer will be first season cutting it with our 1982 model NH488. People tell me not to cut the Bluestem shorter than 8-10 inches and about 4-5 inches is as high as the 488 will go .

Anyone have any ideas to raise the cut height of the 488?

Just joined the forum , thanks for any help

Does it have hydraulic cylinders? You may have to put stops on your cylinders so it will only go down so far. The same way a lot of people control the height of a batwing bushhog.

Yes it has hydraulic lift cylinders, that would probably work. Need to bring it inside where its warm and take a look
thanks
