I have a horse that has had a cut on his frot foot for about nine months. It doesn't bother him but it makes me really nervus. I am thinking that it is a scare now but I am not 100% sure. Is there any kind of boot that I can put on to help this? It is right above the hoof. Any ifo would be great. Thanks Kaneranch

:) If the wound is nine months old, then it should be healed up. Is there proud flesh? I would not put a boot on over the hoof, it will just cause irritation. When you work him, wrap the
leg with a polo wrap, or use the store bought protective
gear for the front legs. There are some that reach from just below the knee to cover the coronet band. If he is sound,
I would not worry too much about it. :D

I agree completly with holly. A bell boot may work also, but lots of more supportive, secure protection out there.

Have your farrier or Vet look at it, at nine months out if he is sound I wouldn't worry too much.

THanks I really appriceate it. I was wondering if it was just a scare, because I could never tell. THanks Kaneranch
