Culling Scenario

We're going to preg. check all the cows and if they don't line up for our 60 day fall calving window or are open then they are going to be culled/sold.

I'm going back and forth on buying fall calving replacements now or wait until late summer and buy heavy bred. Maybe they won't be any cheaper but our grass will get a little rest from less cows on it during spring & summer.

I think I will opt for a spring and fall calf crop versus buying cows in this market ..
I hear ya, I been seeing 6-7 weight rep heifers priced at 1200-1300. I think I'll wait.

Culling sounds okay, but I don't understand why people would buy in this market.

Do you have a severe allergy to money in your pocket? :cowboy: :D

I will only spend what is made from the selling of the culls, I don't care if I replace with the same number of cows but will improve the quality. I want/need to improve the productivity and efficiency.
