As might 8 yr old would say, seriously. :lol:

On a serious note, You can tell the Brangus Phenotype, usually has the prominent "belly button". But most Blacks have and go back to a brangus cows named Magic Mom, The other side of blacks go to Soulmans Momma.

Now you have the Honest Black Breeders where there is a really good cross Black Bayou, from the Maine Anjuo Blacks. Black being a dominant gene u still see black 3 & 4 generations down. As time goes on I think the black will improve, some have improved.

From the responses I getting I think I might just AI the better quality cows to Higher EPD bulls for WW and YW. Then cross with a nice Felk, or Foundation Beefmaster. I will now for sure when this calf crop from my bull hits the ground starting in Late Feb.

these are two heifers of mine,, first one from a beefmaster,, second one from brangus...
 
why don't you just AI all the cows to a top bfmstr and then clean up with a Fleck or other terminal bull?
 
I don't understand why somebody would go to all the trouble to turn beefmaster black ahalf beefmaster usually has to much ear to qualify for cab. Eared black and red cattle sell for the same dollars.
