Thousands of tiny striped crickets have arrived in my pasture. Everywhere I step, they jump, and I have never seen this before. Is anyone else seeing this around West Tennessee or surrounding areas?

Chuckie I have seen striped grasshoppers here, but our crickets are jet black. I get them in the house a lot. I am sure that there are many different varieties that we don't see here.
Migration or just hatching maybe?

We have the black ones too. These are so tiny and there are hundreds of them everywhere. I have never seen this many at one time. I like to hear their chirping, but if they all are going to be doing it at one time, I won't be able to sleep. I hope the birds come quickly. I can start toting all the frogs out in the pasture now.

Maybe someone ought to post a picture of one so that he knows what they look like..
