Since it is the onset of fly season and the discussions about flys and about worming, I am just curious if anyone has ever tried one of these and how cost-effective they would be.

Well, in my world, it would be more of a hassle & not worth the money. Fly sprays, regardless of brand, generally only work up to 2 weeks this time of year. My herd is out to pasture and rounding them up & running them through a corral - even the portable one - would be a huge PITA. Much easier for me to simply dump some cubes & walk down the line with a spray gun.
Those things were crazy expensive if I remember correctly.
Our cattle are super goofy about stuff like that. It would have to be on a pipe alley. They would blow through fences, people, and who knows what else trying to avoid it. If you did get them going through it... it would be at a full on, max speed, dead run.
