Just got another call from 911 telling me my cows are out. Funny how I just happen to be standing there watching the cows eat and don't see the first one out. Don't hear the first horn blowing. Look down the highway both ways and no cows on the highway for as far as I can see.
Dispatch tells me they are at mile marker 3. Its only 200 yards from me so I glance in that direction and don't see the first cow on the highway. I tell them I don't see any. Dispatch tells me the deputy is looking at them and they are on Keefe Road and some are in the churchyard right there at the mile marker. I explain to them that there is no church here nor is there a road by that name at this location but the church and the road she is describing is 9 miles down the road.
Glad I'm not fifty miles away because this would have really screwed up my day. Am also, glad I'm not in the ditch needing help and I also feel much better about my decision to keep a gun with me because if I ever needed help and I had to rely on these folks you might as well send the coroner because I'd surely be dead by the time help arrived with these fuddled directions.
