how many cows can you have per acre of land i have 14 acres and getting rid of goats and going to cows i have an agg i think 2 or maybe 3 at most?

Depnds on too many things to answer. Try 2 and go from there.

Since you've already had goats on the area in question and presumably know how many goats the area can support, you simply need to apply the goat/cow converse equalization factor to get the optimal number of cows that the area can support.

I would would aim at getting 8 or 10 young yearlings, letting them grow off during the summer. Then I would sell the ones I didn't favor as much. If you saw where your grass wasn't keeping up you could sell more. You just don't want to have to feed and hay all the time. I've seen 5 head keep good weight on 15 acres though. Plenty of variables, just try it and see. You will know better than anyone else.
