I have a 10 year old cow that calved Friday and I don't think she has enough milk as the calf is constantly trying to nurse, isn't there a drug that you inject (for lack of a better term) to make the milk come down? If the calf still appears hungry I'll try to give him a bottle today.

Has this cow had this problem before? I don't somehow see a 10yr old cow having a problem of 'letting down' her milk for her calf. It may be more a case of her not having enough milk, no amount of Oxytocin is going to increase her milk then.
You may have to feed the calf as you said.

Thanks for the replies. After checking the calf after my post the calf seems to be doing okay, the cow is not thin and she has not had this problem before, maybe its just her age and her milk production is going downhill. She has been a great calf raiser in the past.
