Looking for a good drone to check cattle and take pictures/video that won’t break the bank. Would need to cover around 900 acres. Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas!

If you look there should be lots of them lying around in trees and in paddocks after Xmas. My neighbour's stepson got given a cheap one by his grandmother, 1st flight they had to retieve it from a big gumtree, 2nd flight it just flew away, a bit of a performance stamping feet, demanding another one ( is about 7 ). I imagine this scenerio is playing out all over the world after Xmas.

Wife had a DJI Mavic Pro drone, several years back, that she used for checking cows, especially during calving season. I don't recall what she paid for it, but $1400 seems to stick in my head. Had 4 mile range & 30+ minute runtime with fully charged battery. Used it for at least 2 years.
Even delivered a water bottle to me on the tractor st the far end of the farm, snout s mile from the house.
Lost power and went down once and was recovered. Shortly before we sold the cows, it crashed, and needed repairs, which she never sent it back for.

Several years back there was a thread were a member that raised pure bred Angus cattle used a drone to check his cattle. He actually had a video of him gathering heifers with the thing. I believe Bright Raven got him to join the group. Maybe someone can remember his name and find the thread.

As I understood it his dad had a lot of money. He had a youtube channel at one point. Every week he was buying new equipment. His wife really loved the cattle. He had some of the best-looking cattle I have seen, but he was very very full of himself.

I think BH was a stock broker.
He posts on a fb group, he has changed his ways a lot, when on here he used to feed everything, now he runs them a bit tougher but still has his views on things.

We have a DJI Mavick Air 2. It’s a great little drone, lots of range and good battery life. Super easy to use.
Is that username specific to this poster, or will that search work with other posts by those no longer on the Board?

Appears to be specific to that one former member. I think section 4.4 of the Terms and Rules gives a hint about this.
Does anyone know if Bright Raven's posts were retained? He had a lot of good info on vaccines, minerals ect. Not big deal, just curious if there is way to search for some of those old posts.

Search for posts by user name. For active users, type a few letters for the name and choices of current user names will appear for selection. For former users, you need to type the complete name with correct spacing and the posts can generally be found. Remember that some had multiple user names. Add a keyword (like vaccine) to narrow the results.
