I've been visiting this site for a long time. I feel as if I know enough about you all to jump in and ask a question now. This is the best site I've found. Thanks guys and gals.

6 yr old cow, just had 4th calf March 10th. No dystocia whatsoever. Bull serviced her 22 days ago. Last night she was standing for him again. Not 20 minutes after he bred her she is bleeding from the vagina. Not just a little like after a missed heat...there was a small puddle behind her. She is uncomfortable and I didn't see as to where the bull was unecessaraly rough with her. Now that I think back, she strained for almost 4 days after the first service, but no blood.

Bull has had a breeding soundness exam and passed with flying colors. Has also serviced at least 10 others from heifers to old cows and no problems.

Any ideas before I haul her off. (60 cent cull cows is not worth a vet trip)

Sounds like he tore the vaginal wall as he was breeding her - happens once in a long while.

Either that or she has an internal cyst that has been broken.
