Here is something for yall to ponder. try to follow the timeline .

05-20-15 cow calved a good bull calf.
06-12-15 seen the bull breed her
07-31-15 seen the bull breed her again
09-07-15 noted that her vag was swollen arches her back pump handle tail
09-28-15 seen bull working her like she was in heat
02-29-16 seen her riding a cow
03-15-16 seen her riding #11 , 11 had a calf 2 days later
04-21-16 seen her riding #2 . 2 had a calf Saturday
04-23-16 seen her going crazy staying side by side with a heifer coming into heat.
I also noticed yesterday that her bag seemed to have changed overnight bagging heavy and considerably looser. If that is any indication the 7/31/breeding would have her due 05-07-16.

her avg calving interval Is 345days
avg post partum is 60 days.

Is the first part of that supposed to be 2014??.. you start May 20 2015, and going down a few lines you see Feb 29, 2015

I've seen cows in standing heat 3 months before calving.. same cow came up open the next year

I've seen it a few times but it was always when the cow was getting close to calving.

Our oldest cow (she's 10) will ride anything in heat, any time, is constantly getting hunched by the steers (when they're old enough), always has a fairly large bag and I never know when she'll calve, regardless of using the gestation calculator when I see her with one of the bulls because she doesn't always take the 1st time & I clearly miss round 2. The only way I can estimate when she's close to calving is she gets needy, wants a lot of attention - and preferably extra cubes.

she was actually late this yr. But her avg is still in line on her calving interval.
