Been weaned 3 or 4 days in the pics, still not quite sure what that stuff in the trough is.

Heifers seem to be handling the hot weather better than the steers, it's really taken it's toll on them:

They look good to me. Even if they are black. I think I like the baldie better than the brokle face one. But she may be older? They out of your herf bull you were talking about?
 
Lots of caliber to those. Looks like they are ready to breed already. Are those hills in Virginia?

I like the baldie better, too. They're both 9 mo old, out of a hh bull. Baldie is out of a straight angus cow and the brockle has a little simmi in the woodpile.

You wouldn't say that if you were with me last week in Hutch. 108 to 110 degrees and a hot south wind. Man was I glad to come home to the Mtns. I sure do like that country though.

I've been buying load bars to go with my scale head for about 5 years now, seeings how that hasn't happened yet the only scale I've got is my eyeballs. Judging from the steers that came off with them, I'd say the bwf is low to mid 7's and the brockle is high 6's, maybe 7. Their dams were bcs 7 or 8 when the calves were weaned.

Sounds like here. For the past 6 or 7 weeks, it's been in the mid to upper 90's for the most part, a few days over 100. But the humidity will kill you, I haven't been able to wear a shirt at home since I got back from my trip. That week in the air conditioned pickup about to kill me.

We can make room for you and your heifers. They'd probably like our good grass better than the fescue anyways.

I know I was in Ohio for a week and coming back out here about killed me off. They were whining about highs in the upper 80s and that was our lows at home.... :roll:
 
The baldie is definitely my favourite. Exactly the type of female I like. Very deep, soft and muscled as much as you'd like while still maintaining femininity. Brockle is great too but next to the baldie... she just doesn't have the balance. It's like a good looking girl standing next to a beautiful girl. The good looking girl is still good looking, but she's outdone by the beautiful one :lol2:

Do you normally wait to wean them at nine months? Isn't that a little hard on the cows?
