I won a country ham awhile back. :tiphat: I Slow boiled it yesterday for almost 5 hours and let it cool overnight. I got the ham out this morning and trimmed it up and I just placed it in the refrigerator. :help: Now what? What's your favorite recipe from this point on?

Sandwiches is all I've ever done with one I boiled. I'll be glad to see the responses.

Ham Salad

2 cups mayonnaise
1 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
2 pounds ham, diced (my mother used to run it through a food mill, I use a food processor to cut it up).
1 onion, diced
1 small green bell pepper, diced (optional)
2 stalks celery, diced

DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, relish, pepper and salt until blended. Add the ham, onion, green pepper and celery and toss until coated. Store the salad, covered, in the refrigerator.

Thanks for the responses.
I have already had a sandwich ;-)
And ham salad sounds really good ;-)

I followed the instructions on the ham to this point. What I have found on the web says to bake it in a glaze and pineapples for a short time. :???:

Throw a few big chunks in a pot of beans...or brown a few pieces lightly and serve with eggs, etc. in the morning. Hard to beat.

Even though it is already cooked, you can cook a portion in a slow cooker (crockpot). For an 8 lb size, put 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar in the bottom of the pot and place the ham on top of it. Then rub 1/2 cup of brown sugar on the ham. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours. This is delicious.

Ditto Texasbred: chop some up and add to scrambled eggs.

What chippie said........add pineapple juice and pineapple rings on top of ham the last hour......DELICIOUS! Make mashed taters, corn and corn muffins to complete the ensemble

Pineapples go really well with it. Also, you can do the same with a heavy apple sauce with boiled and sweetened apple slices. Just something about these two fruits that compliments the ham. Or do the pineapple thing and slather it with apple sauce while cooking and a sprinkling of brown sugar. And maybe some cloves. My mind wants to keep going but I best stop else I'll get hungry.

Cube some up and cook in some scalloped potatoes. Make sure to use plenty of onion and cheddar cheese. Good stuff.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas! I'm not usually a big ham eater but I have lots to eat now. ;-)
