Coughing

I have noticed several of our cows will cough once in a while. It is good hard single cough, like they have something in their throat and rarely 2 to 3 times. It reminds me of my wifes smokers cough.

We are feeding only hay now that is an alfalfa grass mix. Some might be a bit dusty but overall its pretty good stuff.

I have been watching them and nothing has changed for a few weeks. They all seem happy and healthy. Normal?

Dun is exactly right. It seems to be normal. I have fed cows hay that is a little dusty and some develop a cough, but it didn't last long. Shouldn't be any long term problem for you.
