How do you know if the CL is present for lutalyse or CIDR application?

CL is not a factor for inserting a CIDR. they can be inserted any time of the cycle. a CL is needed however for the lute to work. a CL can be determined by the vet by palpating (at least the older vets. the younger vets will probably use ultra sound to verify.) If you have seen cow/heifer in heat, CL should form about 5 days after ovulation. general rule of thumb that I have heard is give a shot of lute and 10 days later for cows/heifers that did not show heat.
