You asked about corn oil, not glycerin byproduct.

Corn oil is still oil....doesn't matter that it is from a plant or animal.

If it is glycerin.....maybe make some soap. http://www.permaculture.com/node/535

Apparently glycerin can be composted and used as fertilizer but until it is composted and broken down you just have an oil slick.

Got any cattle? Pour some of it on their feed. You can also mix one cup to a gallon of water and spray in your garden for insects. Works well.

Make dang sure that gly didn't have any methanol in it or you'll have some drunk then quickly dead cows

How do you apply the insect spray, on the plants or dirt? For what bugs?

putting corn oil in a garden is probably a bad idea since you'll never know if the plants you go there is compatible with corn oil. Why dont you try use it for cooking? unless its already contaminated or something, its better of for frying and stuff or you can probaly use it ti wip of some sticky surfaces which may also come in handy later on.

Horticulturists have been doing it for years with good results and no harmful affects to plants. For frying use lard.

Use as a foliar spray, add about 1 tsp. dish soap to the mix as well. Saturate the leaves top & bottom.
However, use caution on very young plants, and spray at the end of the day or a cloudy day, not mid day or in intense sun. Follow up with a dusting of diatomaceous earth, and you'll take care of about 80% of garden pests, and is especially effective against aphids. Doesn't seem to work on those evil cucumber beetles though
It's not selective either. Will take the good with the bad if you have them.
Wouldn't recommend pouring on oil on garden soil. Can damage beneficial bugs. Won't really hurt anything else, just no benefit.

Light oil sprayed on garden covers the eggs with a very light parrafin and they do not hatch. Harmless to adult insects as well as the plants and soil. DE on the other hand is not selective. Kills most anything you get it on that has an exoskeleton....bad and good.
