got a chance to buy some 5x6 corn hay for $40.weigh 1,500 lbs.guy says it was baled too wet and its 5000 ppm.will this be a problem and if so what?

If it is 5000ppm nitrates i believe that is too high. If so will kill the cattle. Check on highest level you can get by with but I am thinking 2000.

thanx for the info.that is what i was worried about.the wet i could have dealt with because i was only going to get as much as i could feed in a month.the part i liked was $40 for 1,500 lbs of feed but it aint worth risking my cattles health.

Now im worried about the alfalfa i got that was put up a little damp and its dusty.
i got 70 some small squares for little over 100.
I figure on mixing with some good grass hay.

I did give em a bale to try, they ate it up with good grass growing in the field....still standin
