Seen where their show at the Illinois State Fair got canceled because of their name. The band has been around forever with that name and has played there before but ouch now it's name is so offensive. That's just flat out wrong.

Well, in today's social climate, "The Queen of Memphis" probably means something completely different...

And I'm certain there is a segment of the male population that is offended or intimidated by a woman that's a "little on the trashy side"...

And naturally, the environmentalists are in an uproar because daddy took his final ride in a Cadillac, instead of a prius. After all, "Daddy never was the Cadillac kind."

Them and CCR two of my favorite bands.

The cocktail waitress in Dolly Parton wig is a classic line.

Some outlets are reporting that it's due to displays of the confederate flag, not the name. That I can at least somewhat understand, but they could have just asked them not to display the flag at the fair.

We were driving to check cattle one day and I told my dad I was going to load his casket in to what ever old pickup he had the time and blare that song on the way to the cemetery. He laughed and kind of gave me the approval.

Thanks for posting Brute as I had to play if all the way through. I had that song on CD and use to play it all the time as it reminded me of my dad.

And heaven forbid if they mentioned Jesus.

I saw them a few weeks ago over the mountain in NC. They still sound good and seemed happy to still be playing for us fans. Their kind of country is so much better than the stuff on the radio today.

They canceled them at the Duquoin State Fair, which is in the deep south of Illinois. I would guess a total of 5 people would get offend this far south. Shoot, I saw a black man wearing a Lynyrd Skynyrd rebel flag shirt in Herrin once.
This decision came from the fat man up state because they know what's best for this state.
May just have to take a rebel flag with me when I show down there in September.
