Computer whizes, a sound mine's making

Hoping someone knows what this sound is, I have windows xp and DSL, and use AOL. Only when I'm online at times there is a noise like a door opening (speaking hing).... like someone or somthing just came into my computer. It's not when I'm getting mail, but being a door sound, it bugs me....any ideas?

the door opening an closing sound comes from you aol instant messanger.it means some1 is logging on when door opens an logging off when it closes.your computer is fine.

It is the messenger program that is bundled with AOL. It generally means someone on your buddy list has logged off or logged on. This is according to my son.

It is AIM (AOL Instant Messenger). It will sound like a door opening when one of your buddies signs on, and will sound like a door closing when they log off.
