Hi ,
What we want is a complete system for tracking animals like cattle or horses or donkeys.
That system must allow the implant of an RF-ID chip under the skin of the animal, a reader that can read the information in the chip, maybe if possible a software to run a database.
We need detailed information on these items, especially a description of the applications.
One particular need is retrieving lost or stolen animals: so it would be very useful that the chip can broadcast on a long distance.

The subcutaneous thing has not gotten a lot of traction in cattle. People want to put an expensive "permanent " rfid in a temporary tag. Stupid but that is what the industry wants.

I looked hard at AVID ID.

Long range reading is a whole nother ball game. Most readers have to be within feet to read transpondoers. Transponders are mostly read only.
