coccidiosis

We have coccidiosis in young calves. We have treated them with corid and some are fine and others won't respond if if we tube them to replace electrolytes. If they have pnemonia they don't have a temp. Can anyone help

Beth, the first thing ya ought do is get ya vet to look at the ones be still sick. If he be unavailable for an emergency call, try a shot of Nuflor if there be any signs of respiratory trouble. If not, a shot of good penicillin may help till ya vet can see the calves. Dont waste time, calves can die quick. Good luck...............george

What exactly is coccidiosis? Does it only appear in beef breeds or dairy too?

It is an intestional disorder caused by a parasite and a nervous disorder/stress can poduce some of the same symptoms, etc.
