At first I thought I had the wrong channel. We watched about two hours of it and only saw a couple of acts that would fit my definition of "country." Hopefully the last hour was better. :(

the CMAs was so bad last nite it wasnt funny.where was the country music.the new age so called counrty music stinks.

I tuned in for the 30 seconds it took to see Rascal Flats win an award. That ain't country music. I don't know what it is, but it aint country.

I am thinking seriously of getting the satalite radio so that I can get the kinds of music I want to hear.

All this is why I'm reluctant to get rid of my cassette tapes of old country music. And why we listen to golden oldies on the car radio.

Well don't get me wrong I like them too. But they both started in the 80's. Some of the stuff they have now, like Rascal Flatts, why i just as soon listen to finger nails on chalk board. You know I can handle 80's Rock better than Rascal Flatts. But I guess thats the reason they make Chocolate and vanilla so you will have two to pick from.

I agree! What ever happen to good music, like from Don Williams and John Conlee!

What happened to Don Williams? I saw him a couple of times when I was a kid. He was a great act.

If I remember correctly he either retired last year or is going to this year. Mom and Dad went to Fort Worth TX about 2 years ago and they found out that he was playing , I think it was at Billy Bobs. They said they had a great time, he just sat up there and played and people sang and danced. He told the crowd that he hadn’t had that much fun in a while so he played for like another hour and half.
