Seems they made out pretty good. I have not heard if they made any concessions.

"An enhanced voluntary termination of employment for those with between one and nine years of seniority offers a taxable $75,000 lump sum and a $25,000 vehicle voucher. Those with 10 or more years can receive a taxable $115,000 lump sum and the $25,000 vehicle voucher. Everyone accepting this offer continues receiving their Chrysler health care coverage, minus dental, for one year after leaving.

Finally, workers at the Fenton Assembly plants who don't qualify for the other plans but who would become eligible in the next 24 months can receive 85% of their base wage until they are eligible to retire. "

That sounds like a good deal for the Chrysler employees. I wonder how much of this pay-off deal is going to cost us tax payers.

I'm sure we'll never find out.

All tax returns for the year 2009 will be late next year as the gov't keeps coming up with new taxes everyday. instruction books and tax tables won't even be available until March 2010 probably.
