Has anyone watched the new Hallmark Channel movie, Christmas with Tucker? I love the movie, A Dog Named Christmas, great story, as well and the actors did a fantastic job of presenting the emotions. Instead of making a sequel to A Dog Named Christmas, they made a movie that was supposed to be before that movie. Christmas With Tucker is the story that leads into A Dog Named Christmas.
I was very disappointed from the standpoint that the time line does not fit. For it to actually be when the characters were young and the previous generation, it would have had to be in the late 50's or very early 60's. Instead, they had portable phones, the boy wore "The North Face" jackets, the family members were changed, and even the growing up situation with the parents and grandparents changed. The middle of nowhere farm in Kansas had more modern things than they did in the 80's setting of A Dog Named Christmas.
I was very disappointed after expecting so much the way it was advertised. It was a fine story and should have stood on it's own, instead of being advertised as what happened before. The advertising made for false expectations.
